My relationship with the complexity of ceramic materials is key as I aim to capture the softness of clay and the fluidity of glaze, a moment frozen in time with both form and surface. The vessel form is my 3 dimensional canvas, crystalline glazes allow me to create depth in the work combining science and art. Emotion and gesture quietly find their way into the work.

I develop each crystalline glaze over months in search of a quality that makes it unique. Each crystalline glaze requires a different recipe, application and firing schedule.
